We began by reading a book about friendliness. It was a great book for questioning the students about what they do as a good friend. We did a lot of turning and talking today!
After we read the book and did some turning and talking, we wrote about what we can do to be a good friend and use our friendliness! These turned out really cute. My students had some awesome ideas of things they could do to show friendliness, including having a play date!
When we were finished with our writing and had shared our ideas in our table groups, we were ready to move on to one of our absolute favorite word work activities...word building! I gave my students the word friendly (scrambled) to make as many words as they could in six minutes. They loved it and I even had a few get the big word FRIENDLY. They were really excited to unscramble the letters!
Also, don't forget to head over to Collaboration Cuties and check out their awesome giveaway! You could win some really great products!
