Kindness and Things We Love!

When Kindness Cookie comes to visit, we are extra kind! He helps us to find the kindness in others.  He also helps us to really think about the choices we are making. Since starting our Kindness Shout Outs, the kids have really being seeing the kindness in others.

It has been wonderful to watch as the students quietly walk over, grab a shout out slip, silently fill it out, and then wait til the end of the day for all of the slips to be read aloud. On Tuesday, we only had three slips filled out; I think the kids were unsure about filling the slips out. But after those few slips were read off, Wednesday's count was much higher.

The best part: the kids are lifting each other up! The only role I have played in this is printing the slips off, explaining how to use them, and reading the slips aloud at the end of the day. And after all of the slips have been read, the kids clap and pat each other on the back...unprompted! This is definitely something we will continue long after Kindness Cookie has gone back home.
