Dr. Seuss' Birthday and a Science Experiment!

March 2 is always a fun day. And today was no different!
We read about the life of Dr. Seuss and learned some fun and interesting new facts about him.  We also started putting together a lapbook that we will continue to work on during this week. It is a great way for us to practice skills we are currently working on while learning about Dr. Seuss and reading his awesome books!

We have also been working on the states of matter. So today was the perfect day to do a really fun experiment about the states of matter. We started out by setting up our experiment.
We got out all the necessary tools and items and then we were off! The students did a great job of observing which states of matter were depicted in each step of the experiment.
And the best part about the experiment? It comes with a built in snack!
We even added a little whipped cream to give it a Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat/red and white feel!

Are your students working on the states of matter? Head over to my store to grab your own copy of States of Matter with Jello!
